Technical Specialist Beef Breeding and Genetics with New South Wales Department of Primary Industries:
Currently working on tools and strategies to increase the adoption of genetic technologies by commercial beef producers. Working towards a beef industry that utilizes genetic information at all levels of the supply chain in an effective way.
Born and raised in Chivilcoy, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Graduated from Vet school at the University of Buenos Aires in 1998 and worked as a private vet specilaizing in beef reproduction until 2002. In May 2002 moved to Armidale, NSW, Australia to study at the University of New England, graduating from a Masters of Agriculture majoring in Animal Production in 2003, and later in 2005 obtained a Masters of Science from the Animal Genetics and Breeding Unit (AGBU) of the same University majoring in quantitative genetics. After this second round of studies, started working as a geneticist at the Agricultural Business and Research Institute (ABRI) of the same University working with local and foreign BREEDPLAN customers for five years. In February 2010 moved to Brisbane, QLD to work as Technical Services manager for Pfizer Animal Genetics. After 4 years in this role, returned to Armidale to join the NSW Department of Primary Industries as the Technical Specialist Beef Breeding & Genetics.
