EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS
Please log into your 'dashboard' to submit an expression of interest for a paper submission.
You will be required to provide the following information for your suggested paper submission:
100 word synopsis
Oral or poster presentation
Session theme category
You will be able to select one of the following session themes below, which you feel will be most suited to your submission:
Breeding program design
Computational & statistical development
Detection of causal variants
Gene editing and novel gene technologies
Genotype by environment interaction
Health and immunity
Native breeds and challenging environments
Novel gene technologies
Pigs and poultry
Sheep and goats
Small industry challenges
Breeding program design
Merino lifetime productivity
Proof of profit
+ SUBMITTING A PAPER FOR REVIEW
Please note, if you are using Windows Explorer 8 (or an earlier version) you may encounter issues during the registration and paper submission process. Please change your browser to Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox before submitting your paper or registering.
The registration system encourages you to register at the same time as submitting your paper, but it is not essential – you are able to submit a paper without completing the registration process at this time (click the 'abstracts' tab, next to the 'registration' tab).
Papers can be submitted for an oral presentation, poster presentation or both oral and poster. There is a possibility of submitters nominating for an oral presentation but receiving a poster presentation.
For delegates who are preparing posters, please note that the maximum size allowed is: 100cm wide by 120cm deep. Velcro will be available to fix the poster to the boards.
Please read the guide to authors prior to submitting your initial paper. Note that when submitting the initial paper (step one) you will first be asked to provide a "summary" (approx. 100 words) in the text box provided, once you complete this step you will be asked to upload a full paper in '.doc' format for review (.pdf submissions will not be accepted). Note: the Paper Submission web pages refer to the full 4 page "papers" as "abstracts".
Please note, you must be a fully paid up registrant for your paper to be accepted into the final program.
+ SUBMITTING A FINAL PAPER
Your reviewed paper will be returned with some suggested revisions and you will be asked to submit a full paper. When submitting your revised paper, please follow the guide to authors to ensure the formatting is correct.
+ WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE I START MY SUBMISSION
i. Please ensure you are using either internet explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla (version 4 or newer) as your internet browser.

ii. You will need to copy and paste the "summary" (100 words) into the text box provided. Once you have completed this step you will be asked to upload a full paper for review.
iii. The paper word count is unlimited however must be less than 4 pages long.
+ WHAT ARE THE STEPS INVOLVED IN UPLOADING MY PAPER
The first step in uploading your paper is to record your personal details on your own ‘dashboard’. If you have already completed it for your registration or another ASN event, you will not have to repeat this, just login to your ‘dashboard’ as a returning delegate. As you complete your registration you will receive a confirmation email. You will be able to upload your paper via your personal 'dashboard.'
You can use your email and password to access your paper submission at any time.
The presenting author must be the person submitting the paper and they must do this from their own ‘dashboard’.
You can cut and paste your "summary" (100 words) and then upload your paper in several simple steps. The benefits of this system are many but include:
i. Allowing you to preview your submission and make modifications to your satisfaction.
ii. Ensuring you know your lodgement is completed as you will receive an immediate email confirmation
iii. Ensuring accurate indexing of all authors in the book
When you've finished the submission:
You will receive a confirmation email with your Paper Submission Reference Number. You can view or edit your paper by returning to your dashboard.
If you do not receive this confirmation email, please contact ASN Events.
+ AM I ABLE TO MAKE CHANGES TO MY SUBMISSION AFTER IT HAS BEEN FINALISED?
Changes can be made to your paper until the review process begins. Just return to your Conference Dashboard and select the Edit option under Abstracts. The edit option will no longer appear once reviewing has commenced.
When editing your paper, you will need to edit or replace the "summary" in the text box provided and then re-upload the modified paper.
+ WHEN WILL I FIND OUT MY RESULT?
Notification of programming decisions will come from the secretariat shortly after the expiry of deadlines and the working program will be posted to the web site. It will also appear on your own ‘dashboard’. The notification will include specific presentation instructions but in the interim, those preparing posters should note the maximum size allowed is 100cm wide by 120cm deep. Velcro will be available to fix the poster to the boards. Computer data projection is the preferred presentation method for orals.

A couple of weeks before the meeting, the final program will be published to this web page along with hyperlinks to the papers.
